We do not intend to limit the use of our facilities to those persons who are physically challenged, but feel if all areas are wheelchair accessible everyone would have opportunity to share the wonders of nature with us.
- the grounds are flat with some trails paved for easier mobility
- the buildings (including the barn) have no steps and are spacious enough to accommodate wheelchairs and/or walkers, scooters, etc.
- the bathrooms are large (6' X 12') and have a wheel-in shower (no tub)
- the kitchen area has low counters and "wheel-under" stove and sink
- light switches are lower, and electrical plugs are higher with enough power to recharge batteries over night
- we have some equipment on site that may be borrowed if necessary (Hoyer lift, wheelchairs, walkers, shower chair, commode chair, and canes)
- the riding area has a special platform to assist riders when mounting horses
- our hay wagon will carry 4 chairs, and we have a one-horse cart that will carry 1 chair plus our driver
